BCS70 22 months sub-sample (1972)

At age 22 months (and 42 months), a sub-sample (N = 2,457) of BCS70 children were studied.

This sub-study was carried out to explore the effect of foetal malnutrition in brain cell proliferation, which was a medical concern at the time.

A 10% random sample of all births was included together with those children who were considered to be at risk from foetal malnutrition.
