Led by Jon Johnson, UCL
The project reviewed the current data- and metadata-management infrastructure of longitudinal studies, including their strengths and weaknesses, their current and future requirements, and current and emerging technologies.
The project audited data and metadata management practices, operating environment, infrastructure, skills, and needs of the different studies. Two workshops then discussed requirements and reviewed technology options. A report recommended how studies could better utilise metadata collection to improve their data management processes and better meet the demands of researchers who demand updated metadata from the studies.
