To celebrate Love Data Week 2024, CLOSER and the UK Data Service bring you a special edition of the UK Data Service ‘Experts’ Expert Podcast’ series.

Professor Jennifer Symonds, Director of CLOSER, Robin Flaig, Co-Director of the UK Longitudinal Linkage Collaboration and Chief Operations Officer for Generation Scotland, and Dr Nigel de Noronha, Research Associate at the University of Manchester, share their personal data journeys for Love Data Week’s 2024 theme – ‘My kind of data.’

Focusing on their personal data journeys, the panel highlight the impact that data and research has had on society. In a wide-ranging discussion over three episodes, we hear about how data has helped highlight the causes of inequalities and the potential for increasing the impact of data even further. Our experts also touch on how in an emerging world of AI and more convincing fake news, we can use data to help us provide a safe place for sourcing trusted information.
