Using the Colectica REST API to access CLOSER Discovery Metadata (9 & 16 March)
This two-day training workshop explored longitudinal study metadata in novel ways.
About this workshop
In March 2022, CLOSER hosted a free, two-day, online training workshop on using the Colectica REST API to access CLOSER Discovery metadata. The REST API enables users to query the content of CLOSER Discovery programmatically. The training aimed to help familiarise data managers, researchers and programmers with the skills needed to explore and use longitudinal study metadata in novel ways.
The first session equipped participants with the necessary background knowledge needed to be able to interact with the REST API. Participants were encouraged to test out the API for themselves in their own work before the second training session.
The second session was driven by the needs of participants following their use of the REST API.
