CLOSER is delighted to be a sponsor of this year's Social Research Association (SRA) annual conference taking place in London on 15 June 2023.
About the conference
The conference is the only forum the UK has for bringing together social researchers from all sectors and disciplines to share knowledge and ideas, to debate our most pressing professional issues, and, of course, to meet and talk.
Our 2019 conference brought together 300+ researchers and research users from central and local government and other public bodies, research agencies and institutes, academia, and the independent and charity sectors, representing the full range of research methodologies.
Speakers include:
- Catherine Hutchinson, Head of the Joint HM Treasury and Cabinet Office’s Evaluation Task Force: In conversation with SRA trustee Martina Vojtkova of the National Centre for Social Research
- Heidi Safia Mirza, Emeritus Professor of Equality Studies in Education at UCL Institute of Education: Decolonising Research: Rethinking race, gender and intersectional approaches to research
- Robert Cuffe, Head of Statistics for BBC News: Clearly communicating complexity – can it be done?
- Ralph Scott, Research Associate, British Election Study, University of Manchester, and WISERD Postdoctoral Fellow at Cardiff University: Does ChatGPT Know What the Most Important Issue is? Using Large Language Models to Code Open-Text Social Survey Responses at Scale
